It's jeepers-keepers for Norwich on Halloween night as City's own goalkeeping merry-go-round continues unabated- with one back, one on the way out and another one offered the opportunity to cut short his stay.

The one coming back is Paul Gallacher, who returns for on-loan Jamie Ashdown, who serves a one-match ban after being sent off at Stoke.

Gallacher, who started the season as number one after two frustrating years as understudy to Robert Green, was axed for the game against Cardiff 10 days ago after Ashdown was brought in - joining another loan keeper, Lee Camp, in the City squad.

Camp hasn't kicked a ball in anger for the Canaries, and although he will be on the bench tonight, Peter Grant has offered him the chance to leave before his three-month loan spell from Derby expires.

The third player in the triangle is young Joe Lewis, who has yet to start a first-team game and looks set to have a loan spell away from Carrow Road to allow Grant to assess him.

"There is a possibility of young Joe going out on loan for match experience," said Grant. "I think that is important so I can see him in a match situation. I think reserve-team football is good in one respect for younger boys, but I think goalkeeping is a position that you have to be tested in, and if he can do that at league level I'll be delighted.

"Outfield players you can judge sometimes, whether it is training or playing in the reserves, but goalkeepers are a bit different.

"It doesn't mean they are not being tested all the time but you can see their positional play, the pressure that is on them in certain game situations and I'd like to see him grow into that and hopefully it will make him a better overall goalkeeper - I'd like to give him that chance"

Grant declined to reveal Lewis' possible destination, but said inquiries have been made and he is keen to allow the deal to happen.

With Gallacher and Ashdown seemingly battling it out for the starting spot, Camp becomes superfluous.

"The situation is that I have said to him if he wants to go elsewhere on loan, so he is not sitting about here not playing games, he can," said Grant.

"I think it is important every professional player plays. Knowing that I have brought another goalkeeper in pushes him into third place really, although tomorrow evening because of the situation with Jamie he maybe comes back in at number two."
