King's Lynn boss Keith Webb insists his men can pass tonight's latest Southern League, Premier Division away test at Yate.

The third-placed Linnets served up a shocker at Corby on the road last time out before a confidence-boosting weekend home win over play-off rivals Hemel Hempstead.

Lynn's promotion credentials face another cross-country exam at Tiverton on Saturday followed by a re-arranged midweek trip to Wealdstone.

"We've no god-given right to go and win games," said Webb. "You just have to grit it out and earn that right. I had my say after the Corby game and the players answered me. Our away form hasn't been that bad. We certainly don't need to do anything different away than we do at home - it's just a matter of applying ourselves.

"It was easy to get carried away with the Corby game because that is the last one in the memory.

"Lots of people were telling me what I should or shouldn't do, but I wasn't pressing any panic buttons or getting worried. If you look at our last 11 games, we've won seven, drawn three and lost one. Put the Corby result in that context and it's not too bad."

Webb is poised to name an unchanged starting line up at Lodge Road if captain Mark Warren (knee) and Jack Defty (strain) shake off knocks picked up against the Tudors.

Midfield duo Sam McMahon (knee) and Steve Melton (hamstring) are still sidelined. Charlie Defty (knock) is unlikely to travel.

"At this moment in time the team that started against Hemel was my strongest available," said Webb. "I'll probably go with the same eleven. It just depends on injuries. If I have to work around that and play people in positions I think they can do a job then I will. Charlie is 80:20 against. The other two midfielders have no chance. Hopefully Melts might be back for Wealdstone next week."

Webb has challenged Norwich on loan recruit Andrew Fisk to fill the current midfield void after an impressive engine room display against Hemel.

The Linnets chief also confirmed he is working overtime to freshen up his squad for the run in ahead of this weekend's final deadline.

"I felt Andy worked harder than the previous match on Saturday and when he does that things happen," said Webb. "He needs to know his strengths and when he understands that he can become a better player and very effective at our level.

"He must play at a high intensity, closing down other midfield players and be ready to battle for everything. When he thinks he's got other qualities then his game suffers."
