King's Lynn 1, Yate Town 0: The Linnets returned to The Walks for their first home fixture since January 14, to face Yate Town, who were on a seven-game unbeaten run, including a 3-2 win over the Linnets in February.

The home side had to make one change with youngster Matty Peters coming into midfield in place of flu' victim Cedric Anselin.

The opening 10 minutes saw both sides feeling each other out but Lynn did threaten when a cross from O'Halloran was plucked out of the air at the last moment by Court, with Harvey diving into the Yate net in his attempt to head in.

A narrow offside decision stopped O'Halloran running clear on 12 minutes before Benstead in the Lynn goal had to punch clear from the game's first corner.

Lynn replied with their first corner as gradually the home side began to pressure Yate before West had to receive lengthy treatment off the field for a cut head.

Some heavy tackling by Yate saw Brice receiving the first caution and from McMahon's free-kick Matt Nolan headed past Court to put Lynn ahead on 29 minutes.

Two minutes later a fine run and cross by O'Holloran was headed inches wide by Harvey and then Nolan fed O'Holloran but he was stopped before he had chance to shoot.

The home side continued to dominate and a quick turn and shot by Nolan brought a good shot by Yate keeper Court a few minutes from the break.

Half-time: King's Lynn 1, Yate Town 0.

A fine ball from Peters sent O'Holloran racing through in the opening minute of the second half, but stand-in 'keeper Edwards came out and managed to touch the ball over the bar.

Yate started to push forward and Benstead had to be alert to rush out and collect from in front of Chenoweth. O'Holloran was adjudged offside again in front of the Yate goal, quickly followed by another Yate caution for Cenoweth for scything down O'Holloran from behind.

Nolan produced fine work in beating three defenders before crossing into the Yate area, but too hard for other Lynn forwards to take advantage.

A shot by Sims sailed high over the Lynn goal from a rare Yate attack and then O'Holloran netted, but again from an offside position.

McMahon then fed Nolan, running through, but his lob over the keeper sailed wide.

Heath-Preston and Hammond came on for Peters and O'Holloran for Lynn with 15 minutes left.

Two quick free-kicks were awarded against Yate, the second being narrowly headed wide by Nolan.

Smith then put Nolan away, but again his attempted lob was caught by the keeper in front of his goal.

A rare situation arose on 86 minutes when Edwards gave up the goalkeeper's jersey to an outfield player and took up a forward position for Yate in a last-ditch attempt to force an equaliser.

Just before the final whistle, Nolan fired narrowly wide.
