Lowestoft Town will be looking good at Wembley on Sunday having been suited and booted for their FA Vase final.

The Blues' players, management and backroom staff piled into Slaters menswear store on St Stephens Street, Norwich, to collect their grey suits and blue shirts.

A total of 38 suits were tailored thanks to former Town player Martyn Spore, who agreed to put up the £2,000 to ensure his old side looked the part as they prepare for the biggest day in the history of the club.

And although the squad were in obvious high spirits before heading off to Norwich City's Colney training ground for a second coaching session with the Canaries' sports scientist Dave Carolan, the store's manager David Norman said the players had not been too difficult to size up.

“They've been absolutely brilliant,” said Norman. “You can see the nerves they're eating off - it's a big thing for them to play at Wembley, but I think they'll win.”

t Punters are expecting a result after 90 minutes in Sunday's FA Vase, according to money being taken at bookmakers.

The odds on Lowestoft and Kirkham & Wesham ending all square after 90 minutes have been drifting and were 12/5 on Thursday, suggesting most expect extra-time and penalties to be avoided. Not surprisingly, Lowestoft - a step higher up the non-league pyramid than their Lancashire opponents - are Betfred's 6/5 favourites, the same firm pricing their opponents at 7/4.

Pricing any side at almost 2/1 in a cup final is a risky strategy and punters who suspect it will be much closer than those odds suggest may fancy taking the 6/1 price posted in favour of a 1-0 Lowestoft victory.
