Brandon Lasses Ladies took advantage of a well-drained pitch to host Brantham Athletic in the Suffolk Women's League.
In a tightly fought match the home side had the better of the opening exchanges but were limited to long-range efforts, not really testing the Brantham keeper.
Alfie Butler made her debut for the club, displaying industrious football, closing players down and linking up well.
Brandon eventually made the breakthrough after Laura Kerry played Lyndsie Duemmel through to fire past the Brantham keeper.
Credit to the visitors who frustrated the Lasses attack and put the home defence through their paces especially late on in the game but Brandon will feel they deserved the points.
