Marshall (pictured) may have to settle for a place on the bench, with Sunderland's Craig Gordon the number one choice, for a game Burley is using as a warm-up for the World Cup qualifiers which start in September with a trip to Macedonia. Marshall, 23, made his only two appearances for the national side in 2004. He has been in competition with Allan McGregor for the back-up role, but the Rangers stopper has been ruled out by injury. Alex Pearce, who finished the season on loan at Carrow Road, has been included in the Scotland U21s squad for a friendly against Norway on May 20.
