The big night finally arrived but Norwich City fell to a 4-1 defeat away to European champions Liverpool as they returned to the Premier League – and our reporters were at Anfield ready to bring you full coverage.

The match was the curtain-raiser for the planet's most watched league, pitching the promoted Canaries against Jurgen Klopp's impressive Reds team, who missed out on the title to Manchester City by just a point last season.

Liverpool bounced back with a 2-0 victory over Tottenham in the Champions League final however and in top international stars such as Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Virgil van Dijk, they pose just about the most difficult challenge Daniel Farke's team could be facing (8pm kick-off).

City come into the game with momentum of their own, after a superb Championship title success, but know they will be underdogs on a night when Anfield is set to rock - as it's the first home game since that Champions League triumph.
