The Canaries were unbeaten throughout their eight-game pre-season programme – and kicked off their EFL Championship campaign with a decent 1-1 draw at highly fancied Fulham.

But the controversy surrounding Nelson Oliveira’s goal celebration following his late equaliser rather overshadowed what should have been a positive day for Daniel Farke, after his first competitive game as City’s new head coach.

Following their cup clash, City welcome relegated Sunderland to Carrow Road on Sunday lunchtime (1.30pm) for City’s opening home league game of the campaign.
