Supporters have reacted to Norwich City’s loan signing of Slovakia international Ondrej Duda with a mixture of excitement and gallows humour, amid the Canaries’ battle for Premier League survival.
With the attacking midfielder's deal confirmed soon after Watford's 3-0 win at Bournemouth had left City eight points from safety with 16 games remaining, the majority of fans were keen to welcome a fresh face.
On the back of a 4-0 loss at Manchester United and just one win in the last 17 league games, there was also a streak of cynicism about the loanee's arrival from some.
All Canaries supporters will be hoping Duda can hit the ground running though, with a home clash against survival rivals Bournemouth on Saturday which Daniel Farke's team must win to keep alive their hopes of pulling off a great escape.
The 25-year-old former Legia Warsaw midfielder scored 11 goals and assisted a further six in the Bundesliga for Hertha Berlin last season but has been out of favour during the current campaign, with just one assist from seven league games.
