With half of the January transfer window completed, David Freezer takes a look at the deals, links and questions surrounding Norwich City’s business.
Two in and three out, but plenty more issues still to be settled. That's how Norwich City's first team transfer business has unfolded so far.
While there has also been loan movement involving some of the Canaries' youngsters, it is Premier League prospects that supporters are mainly focused on this month.
Whether there will be any more business completed before the end of the month may now depend on whether there are any more outgoings, as City currently have their maximum allowance of 17 non-homegrown players.
Clubs register their 25-man Premier League squad again when the window closes and with Dennis Srbeny and Philip Heise leaving, their non-homegrown slots have been taken by new signings Ondrej Duda and Lukas Rupp.
Here's how things are shaping up in each department...
GOALKEEPERS
It's reasonably settled among the keepers, with Ralf Fahrmann shaking off a minor hamstring strain which robbed him of an FA Cup chance at Preston, to return as competition for number one Tim Krul.
Fahrmann looks likely to remain for the rest of the season as planned, however, there is an added motivation for forcing his way into Daniel Farke's team.
The German's parent club, Schalke, will be losing their number one, Alexander Nubel, to Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in the summer as the highly rated 23-year-old has signed a pre-contract agreement.
The only other issue could be that veteran Northern Ireland international Michael McGovern also takes up one of the non-homegrown slots, however the third-choice keeper was needed for two Premier League appearances earlier in the season when Fahrmann had a groin problem.
DEFENDERS
Max Aarons seems to be taking up much of the rumour mill attention defensively, with several different reports claiming Tottenham's interest remains strong.
That's despite Farke re-emphasising that City have no financial pressure to sell their best young assets this month, short of an "unbelievable offer", saying of Aarons specifically: "I wouldn't spend too much energy listening to all these rumours.
"Listen, Max is a young guy, only 20 years old and he has four years on his contract. It's not the right time for him even to think about a January move."
That hasn't prevented Sky Sports adding Borussia Dortmund to the lengthy list of suitors this month, following on from the Daily Mail putting Arsenal, West Ham and Everton in the mix, with Manchester City, Crystal Palace and Manchester United all linked in national newspapers previously.
Just this week FootballInsider247.com have claimed Spurs are ringing the England U21 international's representatives every day to try and force a January move, leading Canaries fans to wonder about the influence around Aarons.
Should City lose to Bournemouth on Saturday and their survival prospects take a major blow, that situation could evolve further, but The Athletic have also claimed this month that a huge £45million would be needed to capture the right-back.
Otherwise, Ben Godfrey is closing on a return to full fitness and Timm Klose is back in light training and looking on course to be back in the centre-back mix by March, leaving little room for another central defender to arrive.
Chelsea youngster Marc Guehi was linked but has gone to Swansea, as was Ajax 19-year-old Sven Botman in the Dutch media, who is currently impressing on loan at Heerenveen
Otherwise, Sam Byram has continued to keep Jamal Lewis out at left-back and The Sun on Sunday have reported that City want Xavi Quintilla from Spanish side Villarreal - which they claim could allow Norwich to consider offers for Lewis, with Liverpool reportedly among the clubs monitoring the Northern Ireland international.
That follows Heise's loan switch to Nuernberg for the rest of the season, with Byram also needed to provide cover and competition for Aarons on the right.
MIDFIELDERS
The addition of Duda and Rupp bolster Farke's midfield options, with both able to play wide and arriving following the exit of Manchester City winger Patrick Roberts, whose unsuccessful loan was cut short, switching to the Championship with Middlesbrough.
Duda is primarily a central attacking midfielder however so would appear to be direct competition for Kenny McLean and Marco Stiepermann, both of whom have struggled for consistent form, with the Slovakia international scoring 11 goals and assisting a further six in the Bundesliga for Hertha Berlin last season.
While Rupp is more of a central midfielder, with previous top level experience with Borussia Monchengladbach, and would appear to be competing with the likes of Mario Vrancic, Tom Trybull and Mo Leitner.
His addition has led to some fans questioning if Leitner could be surplus to requirements, having made just one appearance in recent months, in the FA Cup win at Preston.
In the attacking ranks, Todd Cantwell's six goals have seen the 21-year-old linked with Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester City - but all with the suggestion of summer interest.
While the form which earned Emi Buendia a Premier League Player of the Month nomination for December has also seen tentative links to champions-in-waiting Liverpool mentioned by The Athletic.
FORWARDS
It's more straightforward up front, with no fresh links to nine-goal top scorer Teemu Pukki and summer signing Josip Drmic close to returning from two months out with a hamstring injury.
Adam Idah moved to the fore with his FA Cup hat-trick, seemingly putting an end to an expected League One loan spell at Doncaster Rovers, particularly with Srbeny's permanent move to Paderborn.
Any striker changes look likely to depend on whether Farke and sporting director Stuart Webber feel Idah's development will be better served by going out on loan, which would require a fresh option to be added to the squad.
Arsenal's young prospect Eddie Nketiah has been linked after his Leeds loan was brought to an end due to lack of game time, with City having one loan slot left to fill, but the England Under-21 star looks to be heading to Bristol City.
