Nick stars for Shrubs

SHRUBLANDS LADIES played Sprowston Ladies away and came out flying from start. Jess found Nick in space and with only 30 seconds on the clock Nick had found the back of the net, her 11th goal in six games.

Jess found Nick in space and with only 30 seconds on the clock Nick had found the back of the net, her 11th goal in six games.

Shrubs carried on dominating and kept the Sprowston keeper busy. Nick picked up the ball from the halfway line and after taking on three players slotted the ball past the keeper: 2-0 to Shrubs and Nick's 12th of the season.

Shrubs could have had five or six with Zoe hitting the post and some fine saves from the Sprowston keeper. Second half Shrubs carried on playing the best football they have ever played with some outstanding passing between Nick, Zoe and Julie that ripped the Sprowston defence apart.

Two minutes into the second half Shrubs got a free-kick and a fine ball played in by Ella found Julie in the box who scored a good goal. Nick scored her 13th goal in six games making it 4-0 to Shrubs and then the heavens opened and made it very slippery and hard going.

Shrubs relaxed and Sprowston scored a fantastic goal, making it 4-1. With the weather getting bad and the pitch getting boggy both teams found it hard to stay on their feet, and with the game in the bag Shrubs started running the clock down.
