RIDGEONS LEAGUE: Wroxham boss Damian Hilton refused to get embroiled in a public slanging match with Wisbech counterpart Roy McManus on the eve of Mildenhall's Ridgeons Premier dead rubber today at Trafford Park.

Wroxham boss Damian Hilton refused to get embroiled in a public slanging match with Wisbech counterpart Roy McManus on the eve of Mildenhall's Ridgeons Premier dead rubber today at Trafford Park.

The duo faced off in last weekend's 1-1 Fenland Park draw that sunk Wroxham's faint hopes of a successful title defence.

Play was suspended midway through the first half as match officials were forced to separate the pair after an altercation erupted following a contested throw in.

McManus admitted afterwards he had took extra pleasure in the four league points Wisbech earned from the club's two tussles this season - a point not lost on Hilton.

He said: “As we have dropped 31 points so far this season it is obvious we have been authors of our own failure against average teams we would have beaten in our championship-winning season.”

Hilton is demanding a strong finish to the campaign with champions-elect Soham Town ten points ahead - although the Yachtsmen have two games in hand.

Josh Carus (foot) is doubtful after limping off in the midweek win at Harwich. Midfielders Gavin Lemmon and Gary Gilmore are suspended. Defenders Danny Self (broken ankle) and Shaun Howes (fractured cheek bone) are ruled out for the rest of the season.

Norwich United striker Paul Atkins is an injury doubt for the Planters' visit to Wisbech. The ex-King's Lynn hitman missed the midweek 1-1 draw against second-placed Needham Market.

Dereham travel to Felixstowe & Walton with Nicky Howell absent and Jay Eastoe-Smith injured. Magpies' boss Matty Henman drafts Craig Terrington and Greg Devlin into his squad.

Swaffham assistant boss Ross McNeill has set his men a survival points target ahead of Harwich & Parkeston's visit. Fourth-bottom Swaffham are six clear of the drop zone after losing 3-2 at Dereham in midweek.

'It's a must win game. We need four more points to stay up,” said McNeill. “Three individual mistakes cost us. Everything was good except the result.”

Downham's Ben Coe (ankle ligaments) is out for the season. Jack Webber and Mikey Thompson are also on the sidelines ahead of Tiptree's Division One visit. Fakenham welcome back centre half Andrew Morgan for the trip to FC Clacton.
