North Walsham ‘A’ to face East Ruston in League Cup final

North Walsham ‘A’ reached the final of the Smallburgh Crown Division League Cup when they entertained Coltishall.

The sides still could not be separated after extra time as it ended 2-2, but it was the ‘A’s who went on to win 3-2 on penalties and will play East Ruston on Friday, May 18 at 7.30pm at Greens Road, North Walsham.

In the Slater & Frith Division One, Gimingham - having hit the goal trail midweek with a double figure win over Horning - followed that up with an 8-2 trouncing of Lyng, with Wayne Cutting notching five of their goals and further efforts coming from Charlie Skipper, Ryan Beeson and Ali Thurston with Aaeron Moss getting both for the visitors. This result means that they now move within a point of the leaders with a game in hand and now look real favourites to regain their title. East Ruston were also amongst the goals at home to Worstead scoring seven, with a couple each from Nick Stride and Matt Curtis and one apiece from Kerrin Harris, Lee Woodhouse & Mark Burton with Worstead pulling one back.

Mundesley continue to impose their champion’s credentials on the Wayford Nurseries Division Two with another away win this time at neighbours Gimingham by a 4-1 margin. Erpingham with goals from James McMillan, Andy Adams and Dan Gabriel ran out odd goal winners of five at home to Hickling for whom Martin Hale and an opponent were the scorers. Cawston hit five at Buxton Reserves who replied twice and there was a 2-1 home win for Corpusty Reserves over Cromer Youth Old Boy
