This week’s Norwich City player watch followed debutant Ondrej Duda as the loan signing impressed while playing a pivotal role in earning a crucial Premier League win over Bournemouth.

3 - Tries to help Kenny McLean win back possession in the Bournemouth half but just barges Philip Billing over to concede a free-kick.

6 - Emi Buendia's corner from the right is headed up, Duda tries to hit a spectacular volley from the edge of the box but his shot is quickly charged down.

7 - Buendia drifts centrally and finds his new team-mate on the edge of the box, who slips a nice ball into the right channel but Teemu Pukki can't control and prods the ball behind for a goal-kick.

9 - Nods a Christoph Zimmermann chip on but Pukki slips trying to collect.

13 - Lovely control of a Todd Cantwell chip forward, finds Pukki, who spreads right to Buendia, who eventually gets it back, his shot is blocked by Adam Smith and then McLean's thump is blocked by Billing.

16 - Sharp pass from to Max Aarons on the right, diverting a Buendia pass, Aarons floats a cross towards the back post and a charging Buendia can only head wide under pressure.

19 - Good commitment to get to a Zimmermann pass on the stretch and find Cantwell in midfield.

22 - Controls a McLean clearance well and Cantwell pokes to Pukki on the right, the striker is crowded out by Nathan Ake though.

28 - Harry Wilson puts in the corner from the right and it's Duda up to nod the ball away.

32 - ASSIST - Gets up well in midfield to head down to Cantwell, who plays Pukki through on goal, shot is charged down by Aaron Ramsdale but Duda reacts first and strokes a shot that is floating in, only for defender Steve Cook to leap through the air and superbly tip the ball against the post with his hand - earning a red card and conceding a penalty. Pukki reads the keeper's dive and thumps a rising spot-kick into the roof of the net for 1-0.

40 - A lovely long pass from the left to Cantwell, but terrible control sees the ball go straight out of play for a goal-kick.

57 - Does well to rob Simon Francis to prevent a clearance, Sam Byram finds Buendia, who curls an awful shot high and wide.

58 - Gets back to help Alex Tettey win back possession in his own half.

65 - City get lucky as no Bournemouth player can reach the loose ball in the box, Duda picks up and finds Cantwell on the left, gets it back as attack builds but eventually Cantwell's shot is deflected and loops to Ramsdale.

71 - Jefferson Lerma with a poor touch and Pukki can attack, can't shoot so tees up Duda, who tries to prod through for Cantwell but too much on the pass.

72 - CHANCE - Buendia intercepts a pass on the right, Aarons' low cross from wide sees Pukki and Cantwell get in each others' way and Duda prods low, Ramsdale drops onto the ball sharply just in front of his line.

78 - Replaced by Grant Hanley, following Ben Godfrey's red card.

VERDICT: An extremely encouraging start for Duda, being thrown straight into Premier League action, before understandably tiring in the second half - making his ninth start of the season. The Hertha Berlin loanee showed a quality of touch and creative intent which worked nicely in tandem with Emi Buendia and Todd Cantwell but also worked hard. Two-footed, direct and quick, the 25-year-old could well prove an excellent signing as he builds an understanding with his new team-mates. There's some serious hard work ahead if he is going to keep the Canaries in the Premier League and build on this positive start though.
