Our latest Norwich City player watch followed Tom Trybull as the midfielder retained his starting role during Saturday’s 2-1 home defeat to Wolves, as a lead again slipped away from the Canaries on home soil.

5 - Nice switch to Max Aarons on the right and then takes back possession, exchanges passes with Kenny McLean to keep an attack flowing.

6 - Passes forward to Emi Buendia, who hurdled two challenges centrally and slipping McLean into the left channel, low shot is nudged beyond the far post by Rui Patricio.

8 - Nicks possession off Joao Moutinho and allows Todd Cantwell to break forward with the ball.

16 - Awkward bouncing ball which Hanley does well to nod down to Trybull, City keep possession, with the German in the thick of it, eventually Cantwell finds Kenny McLean on the left, cross isn't cleared, Jonny scuffs the ball and Cantwell gratefully lashes into the net for 1-0.

You may also want to watch:

27 - Big cheer as Sam Byram keeps pace with Traore, who had got goal side of Trybull, both hold him up and Byram nicks the ball.

28 - Grant Hanley up with a strong header to clear a Moutinho corner and then Trybull nods away the second attempt, but all stems from a horrible moment for Trybull, turning in the centre-circle and getting a pass all wrong, straight to Jonny. Alex Tettey initially bails him out but then loses the ball which leads to a corner.

Most Read

30 - Wolves piling on the pressure, Byram has to head a wicked Romain Saiss cross behind, corner is dealt with, but visitors come right back and Traore is again ahead of Trybull, Byram clatters the winger and concedes a free-kick but again City deal with it.

36 - Gets a big cheer as he slams into a tackle on Matt Doherty centrally, to thwart a Wolves attack.

41 - Twice has to go back to Hanley in hurried fashion under pressure but Canaries get the job done.

43 - Lovely control in the middle and Tettey finds Buendia, who slips another perfect through-ball to Teemu Pukki, who just has Patricio to beat but weak shot and keeper can hold comfortably - missing his second big chance of the half.

45 - Wolves waste a corner handed to them by a sloppy Zimmermann pass, Trybull claims possession and switches to Aarons on the right but move breaks down.

46 - Immediately sprays a pass to McLean on the right after receiving kick-off from Pukki, doesn't quite get it right and defensive header is nearly into Pukki's path but Wolves deal with it.

48 - Picks up possession on the edge of his box, with Ruben Neves breathing down his neck, opts to try and dribble out of trouble but eventually has to thump out for a throw as he runs out of room, very nervy few moments for him.

52 - Nips in well to rob Raul Jimenez and the striker stamps on his foot in the challenge.

60 - Lovely turn out of trouble after Hanley helped Byram steal back possession, sets Cantwell away but move breaks down.

66 - Caught late by Adama Traore in midfield, but no booking, just a free-kick.

72 - Cantwell's poor pass allows Traore to break, Byram couldn't challenge him as already on a yellow, Trybull can't catch up either, Hanley holds up, low ball to far side of the box and Aarons gets goal side to block Diogo Jota's shot.

75 - Hanley gets a Moutinho corner away and Trybull twice heads crosses away, second is seized on by Neves on the edge of the box, who thumps a half-volley just wide.

85 - Heads clear Moutinho's corner from the left.

86 - Replaced by Mario Vrancic.

VERDICT: A strong first half, sitting deeper than Tettey at times to try and keep possession moving, as reflected by a 93 percent pass completion rate. However, influence waned in the second half as City collectively became more and more nervous as another visiting team threatened to fight back, with a few shaky moments along the way.

RATING: 6 out of 10
