It’s been a busy week for Norwich City academy product Reece Hall-Johnson.

The right-back, who was part of the Canaries’ under-18 team which won the FA Youth Cup in 2013, joined League Two side Grimsby Town on Tuesday but has gone straight out on loan.

Hall-Johnson has joined struggling National League side Chester until January, just days after being given a fresh Football League chance by Grimsby, signing a one-year deal.

“It’s been a very crazy week, a lot of driving and a lot of moving around but I’m really happy to be here,” the 22-year-old told Chester FC TV. “Personally I’m just looking to get some games and do well, and for the team to move up the table to where they should be because Chester is a good club and a big club.”

Hall-Johnson made one senior appearance for City, coming on in the 65th minute of a 3-1 win over Crawley in the League Cup at Carrow Road in August 2014. He was released in 2016 and played in the National League with Maidstone and Braintree.
