Emi Buendia has been named in the Sky Bet Championship team of the month for October.
The Argentine was at his mercurial best in the Canaries’ 3-1 win at Bristol City on Saturday, notching his first goal of the season just before half-time.
Buendia has been in impressive form for Daniel Farke’s men throughout October, illustrating a stark turnaround in fortunes given he was left out of City’s squad for their match against Bournemouth due to a lack of focus in training thanks to the speculation around his future.
Buendia returned to the side for the 1-0 defeat to Derby at the start of the month and the 23-year-old has been a central figure in Norwich’s five-match unbeaten run since then.
Team of the month: Ben Foster (Watford); Tom Holmes (Reading), Jake Cooper (Millwall), Shaun Hutchinson (Millwall), Joe Jacobson (Wycombe); Emi Buendia (Norwich City), George Saville (Middlesbrough), Nick Powell (Stoke City), Diego Rico (Bournemouth); Ivan Toney (Brentford), Cauley Woodrow (Barnsley)
