Norwich City's top goalscoring trio all found the net as the League One leaders cruised to victory over Yeovil Town at Carrow Road.

Wes Hoolahan, Grant Holt and Chris Martin all scored to take their combined total to 60 goals in all competitions this season.

On a day when other results again favoured the Canaries, they opened up a seven-point lead over Leeds, who were held at home by Brentford.

Hoolahan opened the scoring in the second minute with his 14th goal of the season after Holt's header from Anthony McNamee's corner had struck the post.

Holt missed a sitter in first-half stoppage time but made it 2-0 in the 69th minute with his 26th of the season.

Six minutes later, Martin wrapped up victory and took his personal tally to 20 for the campaign after good work by Holt.

It was a comfortable victory for Paul Lambert's side with Yeovil seldom threatening, and the West Country side have now conceded 10 goals in three meetings with City this season.

With Darel Russell completing a three-match ban, Lambert named an unchanged side from last week's 1-0 win at Oldham.

There were two changes on the bench, however, with new loan signing Stephen Elliott - who arrived from Preston the day before the game - included at the expense of Tom Adeyemi, and Declan Rudd back as substitute goalkeeper in place of Jed Steer after missing two matches with a back strain.

Defenders Adam Drury and Zak Whitbread and striker Cody McDonald were still sidelined by injury.

Yeovil were without former Ipswich striker Dean Bowditch, who picked up a knock in the 1-0 home win over MK Dons. Ryan Mason returned to the starting line-up.

Before kick-off, defender Gary Doherty was presented with the player of the month award for February.

On a bright but bitterly cold afternoon, it took City less than two minutes to go ahead, from the first corner of the match, conceded by Caulker under pressure from Holt.

Holt met McNamee's corner with a firm header and though the ball came back off the inside of the near post, the rebound fell perfectly for Hoolahan to knock home on the bounce for his 14th goal of the season and his first since Boxing Day.

Tremendous work by Holt set up a chance for Chris Martin in the 12th minute, Martin meeting his striking partner's cross with a near-post volley that flew just wide.

It took nearly 13 minutes for Yeovil to bring Forster into the game but Kalala's shot from a quickly-taken free-kick by MacDonald was a tame effort.

One minute later, McNamee volleyed wide from Chris Martin's cross as City threatened again.

Holt then tested goalkeeper McCarthy with a swerving effort from long range after a neat touch from McNamee.

Holt, enjoying an excellent half, headed over the top from McNamee's 33rd-minute corner but City had not made their superiority count since that early goal.

Hoolahan had another effort blocked, then McNamee brought McCarthy into action again with a curling left-footer.

Holt missed a golden chance to make it 2-0 in first-half stoppage time when he played a one-two with Chris Martin and did the hard part by going round McCarthy but fired into the side netting.

HALF-TIME: Norwich City 1, Yeovil Town 0

Yeovil made a double change at the break with Welsh and Downes replacing Mason and Davies.

Eight minutes after the break, Chris Martin was just unable to get in a shot as Holt got a touch to Rose's low ball into the penalty area.

Rose needed attention on the hour after landing badly on the edge of the Norwich area but was able to continue after treatment.

With 65 minutes gone, McCarthy produced a superb save to deny Lappin his first goal of the season. A mistake by Forbes enabled Hoolahan to tee up Lappin for a curling left-foot shot that the keeper acrobatically tipped over the bar.

One minute later, Lappin tried a right-footer from the edge of the area but this time straight at McCarthy.

Holt got his head to a Rose cross but it was a comfortable save for the Yeovil 'keeper.

The City skipper appeared to make the game safe, however, in the 69th minute when he scored his 26th goal of the season.

McNamee's cross from the right was headed straight up into the air by Forbes and as Chris Martin challenged McCarthy, the keeper's miscued punch dropped to Holt, who hooked the ball home from close range.

With 15 minutes left, it was 3-0 as Chris Martin scored his 20th goal of the season. Holt's battling set up the chance for Martin, whose right foot shot McCarthy was able to get a hand to, but he could not stop the ball crossing the line.

Two minutes later, Lambert made a double change as Johnson and debutant Elliott replaced Chris Martin and Holt.

With seven minutes left, Kalala was the first player booked for a foul on Korey Smith.

Hoolahan made way for Gill three minutes from time.
