Norwich City are closing on the restart of Premier League action and there was much to discuss in our regular weekly Canaries debate.

Ahead of Friday evening’s behind closed doors clash with Southampton there has been plenty of attention on City, after one of the club’s players received a positive coronavirus result in the latest round of Premier League testing.

The unnamed player in question will now isolate for seven days and will miss the visit of the Saints due to not being involved in full training, and could even be a doubt for the home game against Everton a week on Wednesday.

Aside from that issue, Daniel Farke’s squad stepped up their preparations with a 2-1 win over Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Friday afternoon, while Southampton were securing a 3-2 win over a Championship side on the south coast, beating Bristol City 3-2 with an Angus Gunn penalty save helping to preserve the friendly success.
