The 19-year-old has been a part of Daniel Farke’s first team set up this summer before picking up an injury that ruled him out of the last two pre-season friendlies.

The Northern Ireland youth international has now signed a longer term four-year contract, with the option of an extra year.

“I joined Norwich as a scholar and I’m going into my fourth year with the club now and it’s been an enjoyable process so far,” he said, speaking to the club’s official site. “Playing with the first-team has been a great experience. The quality of the football, and the tempo and being around that environment has been great for me.”

“It’s more of a free role at full-back in the new system and it’s been enjoyable to play in,” he says. “People like Russell Martin and Steven Naismith have been really welcoming and offered a lot of advice, and I’m a hard-working person anyway so I hope everyone sees that and that it pays off on the pitch.”
