It provided thousands of Norwich City fans with one of their biggest days out – but now the famous San Siro in Milan is to be demolished.
The 60,000-seater is to be ripped down and replaced by a new stadium after Italy’s heritage authority raised no objections to its demolition.
AC Milan and Inter Milan share the venue, which was built in 1926.
The San Siro has undergone several redevelopments and only a small remnant of the oldest part of the stadium remains.
But it will hold many memories for Norwich City fans who made their way over to Italy for the second leg of their Uefa Cup fourth-round tie on December 8, 1993.

City had beaten Vitesse Arnhem in the first round and then famously overcame Bayern Munich in the second round, earning them a clash against the Italian giants.
The first leg was at Carrow Road, when striker Dennis Bergkamp scored the only goal of the game, an 80th-minute penalty, and at the San Siro the Dutch master struck again, in the 88th minute, on a misty afternoon in Milan to send Inter through.
The magic of the trip was captured by keen photographer Edward Jackson.
