There was plenty of midweek loan action for Norwich City players, as Louis Thompson continued his return to regular action with Shrewsbury Town.

In League One, midfielder Thompson made his second substitute appearance in four days for Shrewsbury, coming on in the 59th minute with the score 0-0 at Accrington Stanley.

He added energy to the Shrews midfield and by full-time the visitors were leaving with the points after a 3-2 win, to lift them to eighth in the table.

Centre-back Sean Raggett made his first league start for Portsmouth, in a dramatic 3-3 home draw with Coventry City in which the visitors equalised in the 86th minute despite having had two players sent off.

It was just a second appearance for Pompey, who allowed a 3-1 lead to slip at Fratton Park, with Raggett replaced by Brett Pitman in the 89th minute.

Belgian defender Rocky Bushiri retained his starting role for Blackpool but was played at right-back rather than centre-back. The 19-year-old helped the Tangerines come from 2-0 down to draw level at 2-2 at Gillingham, but was replaced in the 73rd minute, having picked up a yellow card.

In League Two, Mason Bloomfield wasn't involved as Crawley lost 2-1 at home to Crewe and neither was Diallang Jaiyesimi as Swindon lost 1-0 at home to Northampton, with the forward still chasing full fitness after a serious knee injury.
