Norwich City’s enforcers Christoph Zimmermann and Marcel Franke get Daniel Farke’s vote.
The towering German central defensive duo were dominant in Wednesday’s 2-0 friendly win over MSV Duisburg in Werl.
City’s woeful defensive record last season stalled any chance of a concerted Championship promotion push but the two new summer signings look to possess the aerial power and physical presence to bolster the Canaries’ backline.
“I have to say they were pretty good,” said Farke. “I know they are dominant at set pieces and crosses coming into our box. It gives us some opportunities when we press so high, like we did against MSV Duisburg, that the opponent will try long balls so you need good headers in the last third. I know they are players with much potential but for sure we have to work more to fulfil the expectations during the season.”
