Norwich City have confirmed the number of season ticket holders who signed up for the 2009-10 campaign before last Saturday's final deadline is 18,248.

Since the club's relegation to League One was confirmed in the final game of the season at Charlton on May 3, a total of 117 supporters have cancelled their season tickets - but 385 have renewed or purchased new tickets.

Although the overall figure of 18,248 is approximately 1,200 down on last year's total at the same time, club spokesman Joe Ferrari praised the incredible loyalty of Norwich City's supporters.

"The fans who have signed up for next season did so either fearing relegation or, for 385 of them, confronted by the stark reality of it. To go into League One with 18,248 supporters committed to getting behind the team at Carrow Road is nothing short of incredible.

"The loyalty of the Yellow Army at home and away during a succession of poor seasons for the club is a testament to their passion and commitment, especially in the current economic climate."
