Norwich City’s Whitbread fined for motoring offence
Norwich City defender Zak Whitbread has been fined �200 for driving without a licence.
Whitbread, 27, who has played three times for the Canaries this season, appeared before Norwich magistrates on Monday and pleaded guuilty to driving his Audi without a licence on May 10.
A charge of failing to stop at a red light at a pelican/puffin crossing on the same date was dismissed.
The incident took place in Dereham Road, near the Old Palace Road junction.
Mr Whitbread, from Quay Side, Norwich, was also ordered to pay a �15 victim surcharge and �60 costs.

The court was told that Whitbread’s licence had been revoked when it was not returned on a previous occasion. He already had nine points on his licence but the new matter was non-endorseable so no more points were added.
The American footballer joined City in January 2010 from Millwall, signing a two-and-a-half year deal.

He made his City debut as an 83rd minute substitute in the 5-0 away win over Colchester United on January 16 last year, and made his full debut against Stockport County at Carrow Road in April of the same year.
