Norwich City are interested in signing Schalke goalkeeper Ralf Fahrmann according to reports.

Sky Sports Germany are reporting that the Canaries are keen to bring the 30-year-old shot-stopper to Carrow Road this summer.

Reporter Dirk Schlarmann said that City have made their interest known but it is unclear whether Fahrmann is open to their offer.

Fahrmann made 16 starts for Schalke last season, spending the second half of the season on the sidelines thanks to injury and Alexander Nubel being preferred.

Former Huddersfield manager David Wagner was appointed Schalke's new manager this summer and he is yet to decide who will be his first choice next season.

City are keen to bring in another goalkeeper this summer as competition for Tim Krul, who signed a new contract with City this summer.

That would then mean Michael McGovern would be the third choice goalkeeper allowing youngster Aston Oxborough to go out on loan.

Norwich signed young goalkeeper Archie Mair earlier this week from Aberdeen but the 18-year-old will be part of the club's academy set-up in the forthcoming season.
