Daniel Farke will ring the changes for QPR’s visit but the Norwich City chief is not interested in knee jerk reactions.
The Canaries failed to break down a resolute Sunderland at Carrow Road earlier this week, despite bossing territory and possession.
Farke predicts unbeaten Rangers will prove equally stubborn, but it is a congested fixture list that is of greater concern to the German than an urge to demote those on duty against the Black Cats.
“I don’t like to rotate and change so much after a setback, particularly early in the season,” he said.
“The guys need to have my trust and need to get into a rhythm but on the other hand we have four games in nine days and three games in six days.
“We have a very good squad so you need to bring some fresh lads to the pitch. We will do some changes. Wes (Hoolahan) has had more time to prepare, so too Ivo (Pinto). Josh (Murphy) and Mario (Vrancic) come into that as well.
“Yes, it will be nearly the same game because we have to control the ball. We will have to control the counter-attacks, and we did that with Sunderland, but in the easy situations we have to be more awake.
“When you have 75pc possession, 13 corners, more shots, then in 10 games like that you would win eight, there would be one draw and one loss
“This was one of those days where you lose such a game because there were some easy mistakes in the defensive behaviour. The first four attempts they had on goal they scored with three.”
Farke also wants more from his attacking spearhead.
“It was not easy to create chances because they defended well but we need more movement in the final third. It was a little bit too static and we have spoken about that,” he said.
“It is proof how close this league is. QPR, when you think about the top favourites of the league, you might not speak about them before the start of the season but to be unbeaten in three and just conceding one goal is brilliant.
“They are very flexible in their style. Ian Holloway is always a little bit unpredictable as a coach. It will be a hard match, because they are full of confidence.
“They have nothing to lose. They can come here, defend, and see what happens.
“For sure, we had a setback and the lads will be a little bit more nervous, so that brings some more pressure.”
