Owain Tudur Jones believes Norwich City will make Danny Wilson eat his words after tomorrow's League One encounter with Swindon Town (3pm).

The Robins manager questioned whether the Canaries players have either the stomach for a promotion challenge, or the ability to cope with the high expectations at Carrow Road.

Tudur Jones, who made his comeback from a two-month injury lay-off with the reserves appearance in midweek, spent three months on loan at Swindon towards the end of last season and he believes Wilson's comments are a bit of kidology on his part ahead of their trip to Norwich.

“Certainly, I think he's trying to play a few games there,” said the midfielder. “From the time that I spent with him he's a real top guy and he's just trying to plant a few seeds to see what sort of a reaction he gets, if anything, with the quotes.

“I'm sure he'll get our squad and our boys riled up for the game and add a little bit more fire to their belly, and hopefully we can start well and really come out of the traps at them to make sure Danny has to have a rethink about what he says about these boys in the future.”

The views of Wilson could even end up on the walls at Colney or the Carrow Road dressing room before City run out against the team one place below them in League One.

“It's not up yet, we'll see what happens for the rest of the day,” said Tudur Jones. “But it's just a way of trying to add a little bit more pressure.

“There certainly is pressure already there from playing at Carrow Road, playing in front of a big crowd, but it seems to be over the last few weeks something that the boys are really looking forward to. They enjoy playing there and that's all you can ask really.

“It's going to be a tricky game against Swindon. I was there on loan towards the end of last season so I know the manager I know quite a few of the players and they'll be up for it, they'll be looking forward to the challenge.

“They lost their first game 5-0, so they've come back well. They didn't lose a game until last week after that first day defeat.

“They're going to be very organised, but if we can get an early goal that really will open them out and as we've seen in previous games where we've scored four and five at home, if we can get an early goal, that seems to be what we're capable of doing.”
