As Norwich City boss Bryan Gunn looks ahead to this evening's clashes with Fakenham and against Dartford tomorrow, the City boss told the club's official website the games will offer younger members of his squad the chance to show their true colours.

"It'll be a fairly young squad tonight," he said, confirming that Ian Crook will manage the team tonight: "Paul McVeigh will feature too. All the young lads who have come through to professional contracts will be there and hopefully they'll put on a good performance tonight. Chippy's taking the team tonight, myself and Ian Butterworth will be there too. Me and Butts will be down at Dartford tomorrow.

"I'm looking forward to a good game tonight, and I would think Fakenham are looking forward to playing us too. Matt Gill will be captain tonight - when he signed for us I promised him he could lead us out against Fakenham. He's a local lad so it means something to him."

The squad which will feature against Fakenham tonight includes four triallists in the shape of Takura Mtandari, Troy Powell, Nicholas Chrysantho and young Australian Max Joarder.

t Norwich: Jed Steer, George Francomb, Takura Mtandari, Dario Dumic, David Stephens, Tom Adeyemi, Matthew Gill, Paul McVeigh, Troy Powell, Kris Renton, Damon Lathrope, Nicholas Chrysantho, Sam Grieveson, Johnbull Osemwegie, Josh Dawkin, Tyree Clarke, Max Joarder, Danny Kelly.

Looking ahead to tomorrow's clash with Cody McDonald's old side Dartford, Gunn added: "Dartford will be an 18, 20-man squad - we'll probably utilise as many as we can and keep an eye on any knocks or strains that may come along. Gary Doherty will be captain, and we certainly want to try and get everyone on the pitch over the weekend, tonight and tomorrow. In goal it'll be Jed Steer tonight and Declan Rudd tomorrow."

Giving an update on any knocks and bumps within the Canary camp, Gunn replied: "Cody McDonald has had a knock, and a stomach upset this week. But he's here today, and he's going to do some work today to see where he is.

"Jamie Cureton has had a bit of a tight hamstring, as has Luke Daley. Three sessions a day, these things will happen but they're not serious. Adam Drury has a bit of tightness from yesterday's training session so he won't train today, but he will play at Dartford.

"Owain Tudur Jones had a knock but he's been back in the last three days. We wrapped him up in cotton wool for a couple of days and now he's fine. But they'll all travel to Dartford - they've got a really good complex, with a main pitch and training areas around it. Dejan Stefanovic isn't fit enough to play at the moment, he's been training very well - it's a decision we need to make whether he comes to Scotland and not play, or stays behind and trains extensively. That's where we are with him, and we'll assess him over the weekend."

Asked by reporters whether he had decided on his captain for the 2009-10 season, the Norwich manager said the decision would be announced soon. "I have someone in mind," he said. "I'll probably announce that when we're all together in Scotland. We'll have a sit-down, we've had a few chats but I think when we're up there together the leader will be named."
