Norwich City trio Max Aarons, Ben Godfrey and Todd Cantwell are all set to be included in the England Under-21 squad when it’s announced tomorrow.
Aidy Boothroyd's squad is not due to be named until 10.30am on Friday but it's understood the Canaries youngsters have all been included, after starting all three of the club's Premier League games so far this season.
The Young Lions have European Under-21 Championship qualifiers against Turkey and Kosovo during the approaching international break.
Norfolk-born Cantwell was capped at under-17 level by England but has not been involved at international level in recent years. However, the 21-year-old midfielder's impressive start to the season - with two assists and a goal from three games - has seen him return to the England fold.
Aarons, 19, and Godfrey, 21, were key players during last season's Championship title success for Norwich and earned their first international recognition, with right-back Aarons at U19 level and centre-back Godfrey with the U20s.
The U21s take on Turkey in Istanbul on Friday, September 6 (3pm UK time) and then host Kosovo at the KCOM Stadium, the home of Hull City, on Monday, September 9 (6.45pm).
Aarons only made his professional debut for City just over a year ago, having joined as a trainee at 16 years old after previously being on the books at Luton Town.
He went on to be named EFL Young Player of the Season and won seven caps at U19 level with England during last season. With Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold - a Champions League winner - named in the senior squad it looks like Aarons could have a good shot at a starting role as well.
Cantwell, who has been with the Canaries since he was 10 years old, was a team-mate of Alexander-Arnold's as he won four U17 caps during friendly games back in 2014.
Godfrey was signed from York City in January 2016, on his 18th birthday, in a deal which could rise to £1m. His football development was refined as part of City's U23 squad and stepped up with a season on loan in League One at Shrewsbury Town.
The powerful youngster featured as a defensive midfielder for the Shrews but City head coach Daniel Farke converted him to a centre-back and now Godfrey is an important part of the club's top-flight hopes, having been linked with a host of clubs including Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham in the last year.
Aarons and Godfrey were both in contention to play for the U20s at the Toulon Tournament this summer but it's understood City were keen for both to have a rest after a hectic season, ahead of their Premier League opportunities.
Aarons has also been linked with various bigger Premier League clubs and all three players signed new long-term contracts ahead of this season.
U21s boss Boothroyd had a spell as an academy coach at Norwich between 2001 and 2003, before leaving to take charge of West Brom's academy and going on to manage clubs including Watford and Colchester United.
