Last night’s Norwich City player watch kept a close eye on TEEMU PUKKI as the striker drew a blank during a damaging 2-0 home defeat to Premier League survival rivals Watford.

2 - Nudges back to Emi Buendia on halfway, who hesitates and is robbed by Gerard Deulofeu, who runs forward, cuts inside Tom Trybull on to his left foot and slots into the bottom-left corner for 1-0 and a disastrous start for the hosts.

6 - Kenny McLean picks up a loose ball and switches towards Pukki on the right of the box, Finn swings at the ball and misses.

15 - Drops deep to help start a counter, gets Jamal Lewis forward, who plays Pukki into left channel, hands over to Onel Hernandez, whose cross comes to nothing.

17 - McLean threads Hernandez down the left, good pace and cross is heading for Pukki but Craig Cathcart steps in to put the ball behind.

21 - Marco Stiepermann does really well, Hernandez in behind, beats his man but Ben Foster out sharply and sliding tackle to deny Hernandez. Pukki quick to pick up the loose ball but has to turn first, shot hits Cathcart's shins and is cleared.

24 - Does really well to keep an attack alive, turning Cathcart inside and out, eventually Max Aarons crosses, Hernadnez picks it up, takes a touch into space but fluffs his shot.

30 - McLean good ball through to Hernandez, low cross and Pukki pokes at goal from close range, Foster saves well with his foot - but offside flag is up anyway.

39 - Hernandez again does well on the left and Pukki holds up in the box, turns into space and tees up Buendia, who scoops his shot well over under pressure.

40 - Buendia loses the ball as he attacks the box, Pukki really sharp to win the loose ball, tees up Stiepermann, who tries to scoop a cross to Hernandez, but Foster claims it.

42 - Stiepermann takes out Pukki by mistake. Striker had controlled a high ball but was robbed, Stiepermann charged in to try and help but just took out his team-mate. Fine to continue.

45 - Stiepermann lovely quick feet in the box, slips to Aarons but Jose Holebas robs the right-back, Pukki swings at a shot and catches Christian Kabasele on the shin as he clears behind for the corner, no free-kick given though.

45+1 - Buendia puts corner in from the right, Andre Gray makes a mess of the clearance, Pukki cuts on to his right to shoot from the edge of the box, deflection takes the sting out of it and Foster down to hold comfortably.

45+3 - Lovely chip into the box from McLean, Pukki spins and meets on the volley, gets on target but little power and Foster holds.

57 - Trybull does well, takes the ball off Etienne Capoue, Pukki picks up and allows Stiepermann to try and thread to Hernandez, pass isn't good enough.

60 - Buendia puts a good corner in, Trybull can't quite make contact, Pukki meets on the volley but blasts wide, can't repeat his superb effort against Newcastle.

79 - Pukki knocks the ball past his marker to break but poor control gives away a throw.

90 - McLean plays Pukki down the left, all he can do is chip a weak cross into Foster's hands, now playing in support of substitute Josip Drmic.

90+4 - Vrancic threads to Pukki on the left of the box, tries to shape a shot on his right but Adrian Mariappa blocks and striker can't reclaim the ball.

VERDICT: Saw much more of the ball than in recent weeks but few clear-cut chances. Plenty of hard work again but a seventh successive Premier League game without a goal for City's top scorer, who must be looking forward to joining up with Finland. With Drmic limping through to the finish, could well be left to continue ploughing a lone furrow.
