Daniel Farke has called for ‘four yellow walls’ at Carrow Road tonight, as Norwich City look to take a big step towards the Premier League when they take on Reading.

The German’s team go into the televised clash sitting top of the Championship table after beating QPR 4-0 to seal an eighth consecutive win, knowing that victory over the struggling Royals this evening would leave them on the verge of promotion with five games to play.

As part of our One City Strong campaign, we’ve joined forces with the Canaries to try and roar Farke’s impressive team over the line, with extra efforts being made to create a memorable atmosphere this evening through the Sing Up The River End initiative.

“Especially in the last two home games the atmosphere was great,” City’s head coach said. “In general I think we have an unbelievable unity in the whole club, the whole city and the whole community.

“That’s due to our fans and also due to key people in our club. It’s important to have this atmosphere, it always gives us a lift, not only for the young players but especially the young players, when they feel that there are some difficult situations but they have this support and unity.

“This will also be important (against Reading) because we all have in our minds a brilliant game against QPR and some brilliant domination.

“So it’s important that we try to support the team, each and every one in the stadium, although perhaps it’s not that easy like it was against QPR, Reading will perhaps also in some periods of the game also be on the front foot and they’re also a really good side.

“So in one point we may be behind in the game or have some setbacks or whatever and concede a goal. So we can not get too carried away with our recent form, we know where we are coming from and we are realistic.

“It’s important to stick together and I think this campaign to ‘Sing Up The River End’ is brilliant and also in these terms because it’s exactly what we need, the whole stadium behind us, not just one yellow wall – we need four yellow walls. So if this works that would be great.”

Tonight’s game will see fan mosaics spelling out ‘City’ in the Barclay Stand lower tier and ‘OTBC’ in the Regency Stand lower, previously known as the River End.

This will take place as the players come out for kick-off and at key points during the game the scoreboard will also flash up with “Sing up the River End” and “Come on you Yellows” – as it once did in the 1980s and 1990s.

Ten members of the Along Come Norwich supporters club will also switch from the Barclay to the Regency for the night to try and help get the chants going.

ONE CITY STRONG: Norwich City asks fans for memories of River End ahead of next home match

Farke continued: “My feeling is in the history of Norwich City that lifelong supporters have maybe had the chances to celebrate and have had great seasons of success but also to win the title was not that often.

“To have the opportunity, especially with so many young lads involved, out of our own academy, we all got the feeling that this season is something really special and we can’t take it for granted.

“So my message is really to enjoy the journey, try to do everything you can in order that we make the most out of this situation – let’s enjoy ourselves!

“Football is for fun, it is for our supporters, but also let’s try together so that we reach our final target.”
