QFirst versus sixth is probably match of the day… who’d have thought it?

AWell, yes, seems an odd feeling for us to be realistically talking about promotion, but given our recent form I’d say most Bristol City fans are getting their heads around to the idea. I’d have said most City fans would have taken a top-half finish this season given the rebuilding job that the club had to undertake last summer. We lost three of our star players in Joe Bryan, Aden Flint and Bobby Reid so to be in the top six towards the end of February is very pleasing to say the least.

QAre the teams’ respective positions an affirmation that good quality football rules?

AI hope so. I think both teams have a good reputation for trying to play the right way. I’d say there are quite a few teams doing well at the top of the Championship that can boast they play good quality football, Leeds and Derby being the two that spring to mind. I guess it’s good for the game, though, that there is still room for the likes of Middlesbrough in the top-six, playing a more parochial style, shall we say.

QSeven league wins in a row, 13 games unbeaten is terrific form – does it bring added pressure?

AThe level of pressure and focus on the club has certainly cranked up over recent weeks. There appeared to be a concerted effort by every one associated with Bristol City to fly under the radar as much as possible. Lee Johnson has talked about refusing interviews and visits from TV crews in an attempt to stop people getting over-excited. I think our loss in the FA Cup last weekend to Wolves came at a good time just to offer a bit of realism to us all.

QCuriously you don’t score many goals – is that a concern?

ANot really – we seem to be replicating the formula that was successful in our 2007/08 season that saw us finish fourth in the Championship – eventually losing out to Hull City in the play-off final. That team was managed by Gary Johnson, and his son, Lee, is now our boss. Lee actually played in that side too. We are by no means a defensive side, but we are good at that side of the game and tend to wear teams down.

QWhere do you think the Robins will finish?

AI am now confidently saying top six. As I mentioned before, I was pretty much with the rest of the supporter base in thinking a top-half finish was as much as we could have hoped for this season, but given our recent run and the confidence within the side at the moment there is no reason why we couldn’t have a late push for the automatic places.

QAnd what about the Canaries?

AI think you’ll hang in there and go straight up as long as Teemu Pukki stays fit. I’d be happy to see Norwich go up this season given the way you approach the game and the level of entertainment you’ve given us all this season.

QAnd, finally, a score prediction…?

AI know you are used to high-scoring games this season at Carrow Road, but as I’ve mentioned, we don’t concede too many. I’ll go 1-1.
