After Thursday's signings of trialists Goran Maric and Jens Berthel Askou, Bryan Gunn could now name three teams made up entirely of professionals - although that will obviously change if there are any departures.

After Thursday's signings of trialists Goran Maric and Jens Berthel Askou, Bryan Gunn could now name three teams made up entirely of professionals - although that will obviously change if there are any departures. MICHAEL BAILEY looks at the City manager's wealth of options

t Goalkeepers (3)

Michael Theoklitos (28): The highly-rated Australian keeper arrived as a free agent after a title-winning spell with Melbourne Glory; expected to be first choice.

Ben Alnwick (22): Gunn's only loan signing of the summer to date, the Tottenham Hotspur keeper will be at Carrow Road for three months and should push Theoklitos hard for a start.

Declan Rudd (18): First year professional, Academy product and currently away on England Under-19 duty. Should get his chance on the bench as the season unfolds.

t Defenders (11)

Jon Otsemobor (26): First choice right-back signed by Peter Grant in 2007, he will be expecting to play most of City's matches this season.

Michael Spillane (20): Was excellent during his season at Luton, now back and bulked up, he is most likely to push Otsemobor for his right-back place.

Gary Doherty (29): One of City's longest serving players on the books, the centre-back has been named skipper for City's League One campaign.

Jens Berthel Askou (26): A cultured centre-back who reads the game well and is dangerous from set-pieces. Should be pushing for a start.

Michael Nelson (29): Hartlepool captain Nelson turned down a new deal at Victoria Park and Championship football with Scunthorpe to join City's central defensive options.

Dejan Stefanovic (34): The Serbian centre-half is back from a serious knee injury that reduced him to 12 appearances last season; back fit but how long will he be around for?

Dario Dumic (17): Big things are expected from the Danish centre-back and City Academy product, who should get a sight of the subs' bench during the season.

David Stephens (17): A Wales Under-19 cap, Stephens is also one of which much is expected. This season is probably too soon for him.

Adam Drury (30): The former City captain and left-back has had a difficult couple of seasons through injury and will be hoping this season marks his return to consistent form.

Rhoys Wiggins (21): A summer signing from Crystal Palace who, once fit, could prove to be a very astute signing; highly rated Wales Under-21 international.

Sam Habergham (17): Just earned his first professional deal, the left-back is excellent on the ball and won't be too far away from the first team in the coming seasons.

t Midfielders (13)

Simon Whaley (24): Left Preston in search of first team football. The quick right winger should have plenty of fun in League One.

Korey Smith (18): The shining light of City's final day debacle at The Valley, the central midfielder can also play anywhere down the right, and should find himself on the first team fringes this season.

Paul McVeigh (31): Back at Carrow Road, the City Division One winner will be hoping to rekindle some of the old magic and another promotion push.

Owain Tudur Jones (24): Lanky midfielder joined from Swansea, who wanted to keep him; cost City around 250,000 and looks a good purchase.

Matt Gill (28): Born in Fakenham and a boyhood City fan, the central midfielder joined on a free from Exeter this summer; his dream move.

Stephen Hughes (26): One of three central midfield recruits, it will be interesting to see who gets the nod of a regular basis. A box-to-box player who should create chances for City.

Tom Adeyemi (17): City's youngest Adademy product already looks the part, having scored a pre-season cracker against Manchester United; expect more of the same.

Wes Hoolahan (27): The tricky left-footer could be the ace up City's sleeve, as long as potential suitors stay away. Has committed his future to City for the season.

Simon Lappin (26): Back in from the cold, Lappin gives some genuine width to the City left. Will probably be asked to do a job as a winger or full-back through the season.

Damon Lathrope (19): Still only a teenager, Lathrope will be hoping to get close to the first team this season, but there maybe too much competition in his way.

Matty Pattison (22): You forget how young the South African is. Seems to be back in Gunn's plans but may have to wait for his chance.

Luke Daley (19): The youngster is quick and lively, and managed to get a couple of first team opportunities last season. Offers something different but a raw talent.

Darel Russell (28): A City return that promised much, but seems destined to end very soon; the midfielder wants away and Burnley are still said to be interested.

t Strikers (7)

Grant Holt (28): A big move for Holt, and the prize signing of the summer for Gunn. League Two and Shrewsbury's leading scorer last season, has lovely feet and will be a severe nuisance to City's opponents.

Goran Maric (25): Impressed ion Norwich's pre-season tour of Scotland, the former Barcelona B striker will be hoping to impress.

Chris Martin (20): Luton's top scorer last season looks fit, mean and ready for action; pushing hard for inclusion in Gunn's starting XI.

Jamie Cureton (33): The striker's return to Norwich has not gone as well as he or the fans had hoped, and he now has several strikers ahead of him in the queue for a starting place.

Cody McDonald (23): From non-league football to Championship goal scorer, much is expected from a player with little experience. Always an exciting player to watch.

Kris Renton (19): Has not featured much during pre-season and after an unsuccessful spell on loan at King's Lynn last season, he seems a long way from first team contention.

Danny Kelly (18): Kelly can play centre-back or striker, and also has a lovely touch. Has time on his side.
