Norwich City forward Wes Hoolahan has again been linked with a move to Crystal Palace after manager Neil Warnock admitted he was unlikely to land out-of-contract winger Lee Croft.

A swap deal involving Hoolahan and striker Alan Lee - on loan to the Canaries from Palace at the end of the season - was first reported as a possibility last month.

Warnock accepts he may have missed out on free agent Croft, with Derby at the head of the queue for his services, but is understood to be prepared to part with 30-year-old Lee in order to bring in his fellow Irishman and plans to contact newly-appointed City boss Bryan Gunn.

Said Warnock: “Croft is one we are interested in, but it looks like he is going to Derby. I still need to speak to Bryan about other matters.”

Hoolahan, 26, joined City from Blackpool last summer and made 35 appearances, scoring twice.

He missed the final seven matches of the season with an ankle injury.
