Championship club Blackpool are reported to be considering a bid for Norwich City midfielder Matty Pattison.

The 22-year-old South African has two years left on his Carrow Road contract, but did not figure in manager Bryan Gunn's squad of 16 for any game from the end of January onwards.

Pattison, initially a loan signing by former boss Glenn Roeder, joined the Canaries from Newcastle United on a permanent basis in January 2008, when he signed a 3-year deal. The fee was undisclosed.

Gunn, however, said there had been no approach from the Seasiders.

He said: "I've heard nothing about that one and it's news to me."

Pattison, with three goals in 55 senior outings for Norwich, said at the end of last season he would consider a move if he did not figure in Gunn's plans.

He said at the time: "Obviously I want to go and play football. I was happier playing football.

"If I'm not going to be in any of the manager's plans, I would rather go elsewhere."
