The Pedlars battled well to earn all three points in a fast and furious match at Bury.

The hosts' youthful approach could not match the experience and determination of the Swaffham defence.

Early attempts by Stephen Thompson from an Andy Hunter corner kick and Kyle Plumb came close but it took until the 28th minute to score the sole goal of the match, to seal the victory.

It came from a corner earned from a Ben Russell free kick, headed in from nine yards by Thompson, his first for the season.

The home side made some tactical changes early into the second half, but with the exception of a great save by Lee Brooks, the experience showed and at no point did it look as though the points would be lost.

An encouraging start by Alex Buckenham at this level, he will surely feature in Swaffham's future in years to come.

A busy week for the Town, the A-team play Tuesday evening, 13 April at home to Shipdham (7.30pm ko) and then away on Saturday to Dickleburgh (3pm ko).

The Reserves host St Andrews Reserves Wednesday evening 14 April (7.30pm ko) and then South Walsham again at home on Saturday (2.30pm ko).

The First Team are away to March Town United on Saturday 3pm ko and then play Stowmarket at Shoemakers Lane, Tuesday 20 April 7.45pm ko.
