Mark Bunn more than most in green and yellow has played a key transformative role in Norwich’s fightback from a sluggish start to the New Year.

Bunn carried on at Loftus Road where had had left off in midweek against Tottenham. The 28-year-old has been the scourge of Spurs this season with his penalty stop heroics anchoring a Capital One Cup win allied to fresh defiance when Andre Villas-Boas’ talented side returned on Premier League duty. Bunn could do little about Gareth Bale’s majestic equaliser, but his reflexes prevented Gylfi Sigurdsson claiming all three points at the death. That stop ranked alongside his first half one from Jermaine Defoe.

Bunn was at it again in west London. His penalty concession was wiped out by winning the mind games with Adel Taarabt from the resulting spot kick. Andros Townsend was also foiled in the final stages with an acrobatic parry. But it was also the basics that impressed. Bunn confidendly claimed QPR’s first free kick chance to service Chris Samba. He also inadvertently set up a potential assist with not only admirable alertness but no little skill to arrow a 50-yard goal kick in the vicinity of Grant Holt, before Elliott Bennett was hauled back to present Robert Snodgrass with a free-kick opportunity. Bunn’s impressive form is the perfect response to the recent arrival of Lee Camp.
