The late cameos of Moritz Leitner and Mario Vrancic at Wigan have prompted plenty of discussions about potential changes to Norwich City’s midfield for Friday’s home clash with Sheffield Wednesday.

The duo have both played influential roles in the Canaries’ promotion push but have had to be patient for chances recently, as Daniel Farke’s team went on an eight-game winning streak.

The three-game ban of Emi Buendia, for a reckless tackle during a 4-0 thrashing of QPR, forced a change to that successful team and youngster Todd Cantwell got his chance.

The academy product hasn’t quite found the form he managed during the first half of the season, during a 2-2 home draw with Reading and Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Wigan, with Leitner and Vrancic coming on in the 76th minute and helping City salvage a point and push for a win.

Cantwell of course can’t take the blame for that slight slow down in momentum, due to hard fought draws against teams fighting against relegation, and City are still in excellent position at the Championship summit.

They sit four points clear of Leeds and seven ahead of third placed Sheffield United. If the Blades lose at home to Nottingham Forest on Friday (12.30pm) then Norwich will know that victory over Steve Bruce’s team (7.45pm) would seal promotion to the Premier League.

With Buendia set to serve the final game of his suspension when the play-off chasing Owls arrive at Carrow Road on Friday, who would you choose to start in midfield?

Would you stick with a midfield of Kenny McLean and Tom Trybull sitting deep, and an attacking midfield trio of Onel Hernandez, Marco Stiepermann and Todd Cantwell?

Or would you introduce fresh legs and minds at the business end of a gruelling campaign, with two games in four days imminent, as a trip to Stoke on Easter Monday follows the Wednesday game?

Sticking with Farke’s usual 4-2-3-1 formation and presuming that the rest of the team remains unchanged, let us know your preferred midfield five above.
