Norwich City striker Nelson Oliveira has continued his fine form with a goal on his return to Portugal duty.
The 26-year-old scored three goals in five Championship games to earn his first national call-up in almost two years – and his first as a Canaries player.
Oliveira came on for AC Milan new boy Andre Silva in the 81st minute of Portugal’s 5-1 win over Faroe Islands in Porto this evening, in Group B of World Cup qualifying.
He scored less than three minutes later, being handed an easy chance by a defensive howler and firing home powerfully from six yards to seal the win.
The Norwich star’s strike followed on from a hat-trick from Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo, taking his international tally to an incredible 79 goals for the reigning European champions, with Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho scoring the other.

It was Oliveira’s second goal for his country, while earning his 17th cap. The Portuguese forward was signed from Benfica for around £5m a year ago having impressed in the Championship while on loan at Nottingham Forest.
He has so far scored 14 goals in 33 league games for Norwich, who reportedly rejected a £12m bid from Swansea for their star striker earlier on transfer deadline day.
