Norwich City star Teemu Pukki has blasted a new biography about him by a Finnish journalist, insisting that a claim that he used to eat too many sweets during his younger days should not be believed.
Juha Kanerva is the author of 'Teemu Pukki - The Whole Story', which has just been released and has featured in newspaper Ilta Sanomat in Finland.
The report quotes claims that coaches at HJK Helsinki had to have a "serious conversation" with the striker about his diet after he had returned to his homeland in 2010 after an unsuccessful stint in Spain with Sevilla.
However, prolific form of 16 goals in 25 games during 2011 saw Pukki earn a move to the German top flight with Schalke, with the book claiming Sevilla wrote to HJK to thank the Finnish club for their work in improving Pukki, having received a part of the reported £1.3million fee due to a sell-on clause.
The Canaries' top scorer has posted about the report on his @elpugi Instagram page, where he has over 199,000 followers, saying: "I want to make it clear to everyone that I have nothing to do with this book or any other book about me.
"If I ever want to write a biography of myself it will be after my career. I have not been given the opportunity to read the book so I cannot comment on the content of the book any further.
"However, one thing I can immediately correct on the basis of the news of this Ilta report. I don't know who this story is from, but I can say that even though sometimes sweets tasted great, I have never eaten 'sweets every day'."

Pukki was only 21 at the time and although his career didn't quite take off with Schalke, or Celtic subsequently, he became a prolific force for Danish side Brondby during a four-year spell.
That led to a free transfer to Norwich in the summer of 2018 and he hasn't looked back, scoring 44 goals in 64 games for club and country to rise to fame in the Premier League.
His form has played a crucial part in Finland also moving to verge of qualification for the European Championship for the very first time - with Finnish prime minster Antti Rinne presenting France president Emmanuel Macron with a Pukki shirt last week.
