City say the decision has been made to ensure the Carrow Road playing surface is in tip-top condition for the League One games against Southampton on Saturday and Southend the following Tuesday.
The Totesport.com Combination East Division match will kick off at 2pm.
The return fixture a week later - on Wednesday, February 24 (7pm) - is to take place at Barton Rovers.
