Even goalkeeper Robert Woodcock got on the scoresheet for a Wroxham team chasing their first title since completing a hat-trick in 1999.

Goals by Ben Thompson and Gary Gilmore before the break set Wroxham on their way, but it was a 16-minute period in the second half when the Yachtsmen added three more goals which did the damage.

Paul Cook got a debut goal 10 minutes after the break and just after the hour mark Woodcock stepped up to score from the penalty spot after Gilmore had been fouled.

Andy Key made it 5-0 with a free kick and Cook added his second shortly afterwards.

Wroxham ended the day six points clear of Mildenhall, but could widen the gap tomorrow night when they travel to mid-table Newmarket Town to play their game in hand.

Mildenhall kept up the pressure with a 2-0 win at Soham Town Rangers while Needham Market remain 13 points off the top after a 3-1 home win over Harwich & Parkeston.

Champions Lowestoft moved up to fifth, 23 points in arrears, with a 3-0 win at Norwich United which sent them above neighbours Kirkley, who were without a game.

Norfolk Senior Cup winners Dereham beat Newmarket 1-0 at Aldiss Park, Craig Terrington teeing up Paul Atkins for the goal in the first half.

King's Lynn Reserves' recent revival ended with a 3-1 home reverse against Stanway Rovers.

The Linnets' second string had won three in a row, but were behind after just four minutes. Seamus Kelleher pulled one back on 38 minutes but the visitors went ahead again five minutes later and made it 3-1 10 minutes into the second period.

Diss Town's problems continued when they lost 2-1 at home to CRC, a defeat which leaves them one point above bottom club Halstead, who have five games in hand.

Diss led at half-time thanks to a fine left-foot shot from Mark Angel in the 36th minute, but the young CRC side took the points after a 40-yard Piers Wixon shot in the 67th minute and a deflected free-kick from Robbie Willmots five minutes later.

In the First Division, Swaffham got back to winning ways after consecutive defeats with a 2-0 win at March Town which keeps them three points behind leaders Walsham-le-Willows.

Fakenham were 1-0 winners over visiting Gorleston, Ben Darby getting the goal on 34 minutes, but Thetford were beaten 3-1 at Saffron Walden. Thetford, who gave a debut to 15-year-old keeper Matt Terry, took the lead through Armes on 27 minutes but were left to rue missed chances in the first period when the promotion hopefuls grabbed three after the interval.

Downham beat visiting Hadleigh United 1-0 while Great Yarmouth lost 3-0 at home to Haverhill.
