Canaries keeper Declan Rudd has been named in England's Under-19s squad for the friendly with Russia next month as the Young Lions prepare for their European Championship first round qualifiers in October.

Rudd is in an 18-man squad and is one of half a dozen players who were part of the U19s squad which reached the final of the European Championships in Ukraine this summer.

"This is the first time that a lot of this group of players have been together in 18 months, but I will also take the opportunity to have a look at one or two new players at this level," said head coach Noel Blake.

England face Russia at the ProStar Stadium, Shrewsbury, on Tuesday, September 8.

Their qualifiers are against hosts Slovenia, Finland and Slovakia from October 9-14 - meaning Rudd won't be involved in Norwich's game at Carlisle that weekend.

Meanwhile Norwich City defender Michael Spillane has been included in the Republic of Ireland's under-21 squad for the European Championship qualifier against Estonia in Tallinn on September 9.
