Norwich City have confirmed the appointment of Adam Sadler to the club's coaching staff.
Sadler, 28, comes in following the departure of Lee Clark who has taken over as new manager of Huddersfield.
However, Roeder has dispensed with the title of assistant manager, and Sadler will become a senior coach, working with the first team alongside Paul Stephenson.
Roeder said on Thursday that Sadler - who was on the touchline during Wednesday's 2-1 defeat at Watford - was his only choice for the post.
Sadler and Roeder worked together at Newcastle, where Roeder made him part of his coaching team. When Clark left Newcastle 13 months ago to join Roeder at Norwich, Sadler was appointed reserve team manager, but lost his job in September.
