Young midfielder Savvas Mourgos aims to catch the eye of head coach Daniel Farke after joining Norwich City from Arsenal.

The Greek 19-year-old was allowed to leave after three seasons with the Gunners and has been added to City’s under-23 squad earlier this week.

Mourgos has been training with Matt Gill’s squad ahead of tonight’s Premier League Two clash with Stoke at Carrow Road (7pm) and hopes to hit the ground running.

“I think my best skills are my passing and long shots and I like to dribble a lot as well,” said Mourgos.

“The new manager came from Dortmund Under-23s and they like to pass the ball on the floor and they know how to play.

“I’m here to impress the new manager. I want to be part of the first team and I will try my best to get there.”

The Canaries have signed the talented teen on a two-year deal, with the option for a further 12 months.

Born in Amarousio, Mourgos was signed from Greek top-flight side Panionios Athens by Arsenal in 2014 and has previously represented Greece at U16, U17 and U19 levels.

He established himself at under-18 level for Arsenal after joining the north London club as a scholar and featured for the Gunners’ under-23s last season.

He also spent time on trial at Reading after being told his Gunners deal would not be renewed this summer, despite having trained with Arsene Wenger’s first team squad on numerous occasions.

“I think this is a good opportunity for me because I hope I can get more time to play here,” Mourgos told’s City’s website. “I feel very good and I’m glad that I’ve moved here.

“I learned a lot of things at Arsenal. I learned to be stronger with the ball and to play it quicker around the pitch.

“It’s a very high level over there and now it’s time to show people what I’ve learned and what I can do.

“I didn’t know too much about Norwich before I came here but I’ve watched their last three games and I can see they play good football. They like to keep the ball on the floor and not play long passes like other teams do.”
