New Scotland manager Gordon Strachan is confident Norwich City winger Robert Snodgrass can cope on the biggest stage – despite witnessing him perform in one of Norwich City’s low points this season.
Strachan watched from the stands as the Canaries’ former Leeds wide man player in City’s 5-0 hammering against Liverpool on Merseyside last month, and felt he looked comfortable enough at Anfield. Snodgrass and Carrow Road team-mate Russell Martin are both in Strachan’s first Scotland squad for tonight’s friendly against Estonia at Aberdeen’s Pittodrie Stadium.
“I saw Robert Snodgrass at Liverpool recently, they got beat 5-0,” said Strachan. “And I do believe, in a 5-0 performance, he looked at ease at Anfield playing against Liverpool. And that’s as good as I can say about him.”
