King’s Lynn Town kept the pressure on at the top end of the table after two goals in the space of six minutes set up victory.
Leading scorer Craig Parker took his tally to five for the season before Ryan Hawkins added a second, with Ryan Jarvis putting the icing on the cake in the final minute as the Linnets moved up a place to second, two points behind Kettering Town.
It looked like visiting keeper Liam Gooch was going to foil Lynn’s plans at times – he denied Hawkins early on before Leon Mettam teed up Parker, but the Lynn man’s shot was too high.
Gooch was at it again as he palmed away another Hawkins’ effort from the edge of the box and the keeper produced a top drawer save down to his left to deny Michael Clunan.
But the breakthrough finally came after an hour when Parker put Lynn ahead and on 66 minutes Hawkins finally beat Gooch with a delightful free-kick, Jarvis adding the extras to the delight of a crowd of 589.
