Norwich academy youngster Bally Smart is poised to join League Two MK Dons on loan until December.

The 18-year-old is expected to link up with Paul Ince's promotion-chasing squad ahead of this weekend's league match at Brentford. Smart's loan deal will expire after the Dons' scheduled league game at Peterborough on December 15.

Smart featured in the Canaries' 2-1 reserve win against the Dons earlier this week.

“We're delighted to have Bally on board with us,” said assistant manager Ray Mathias. “He's a young lad with a very bright future ahead of him and he showed against our reserves on Monday night just what he is capable of. He's very quick, very mobile and can operate on the right as well as the left so he gives us a few options. We said we needed some competition down the left-hand side, now we have got it and I'm sure Bally will be a valuable addition to the squad.”

Smart signed his first professional contract at Carrow Road during the summer after making his full City debut as a late second half substitute in last season's Championship defeat at Burnley.
