Michael Spillane says new club Brentford can follow Norwich out of League One next seaosn.
The Irishman was allowed to leave Carrow Road for Griffin Park last month, having struggled for a place in Paul Lambert's side after returning from injury. He insists Andy Scott's new-look squad are serious promotion contenders.
“We had some really good players at Norwich - it was a Championship side playing in League One,” he said. “The other main things were work ethic, keeping the ball and breaking teams down.
“There were goals coming from all over the pitch and two strikers who scored bundles.
“There's similarities here. There's strikers here who are 20 goals-a-season players.
“We've got players here who are good enough to play for Norwich. The gaffer has brought in good players for a reason, and that's because we're going for promotion.”
